It was years of hardwork that brought me to the most special day of my life (Aug 12, 2017). The day where I was ready to ascend the stage and spread the beauty and vastness of my dance that is very special to me. It’s really hard for me to express what dance means to me and the impact it has made on my life. It can never be expressed in words, but my Arangetram is a token of gratitude, an ode of passion to something that came into my life after 10 yrs of my existence but I’m sure glad that it found its way to me”.
Dance has made me stop and enjoy the moment. To breathe life into the stillness within each movement, to experience the joys of various emotions without being judgmental, and most of all, to be one – one with myself, one with the music, one with the movement and one with a higher spiritual force. My solo works also reflects my own personal connection with the art and its universal expression of human emotion. Success for me is self-realization, success is being able to think beyond oneself. Success is being able to learn from the ideologies presented by this wonderful artform, the experience of making art that touches people and makes a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Being an athelete of God it was an extreme pleasure and satisfaction for me to contribute to the noble cause of Pratham through the medium of my Arangetram (first debut solo performance). I was introduced to Pratham not very long ago by my aunt who is an active member in the Pratham USA Bay Area chapter. Hearing about Pratham and its cause was compelling for me to get involved, with my Arangetram around the corner I knew that my best gratitude to the art form was to have this performance serve a purpose and I was able to raise funds from my Arangetram in support of Pratham. I raised 2,500 dollars with my 4 hr long recital. “Every child deserves an education regardless of their economic or social situation. The work Pratham is doing to provide this opportunity for children in India is amazing, and I am fortunate to have been able to make a humble donation towards the cause”
